happenings. .

School days
We are finishing up our first month of school. Our first unit follows the collapse of the Roman empire with the beginning of the Middle Ages; church history and figures of this time have been fascinating and I am enjoying learning about the fuller picture of the backdrop to the Reformation. Even Charlotte is joining in the fun; she thinks Charlemagne was named after her. :)

Learning Greek. . .
Troy and I are both taking a class through New Covenant School of Theology at our church - New Testament Greek. I have never studied a foreign language (sign language in high-school - no difference than English in grammar, sentence structure, etc.). As challenging as Greek can be, it's also very encouraging for our homework to be translating small phrases from the Bible. My amazingly brilliant husband has a gift for linguistics and quickly learns the material well enough to be my own personal tutor.

Wedding & trip away. . .
A dear friend from high-school days got married last weekend in Baltimore, MD. Troy and I flew in for the weekend, thanks to my mom watching the girls. We've never flown anywhere away from the children (times away are usually to Denver or some other close-by location) so this trip was a great get-away as well. Sleeping in, a luxury at our time in life, was first on the to-do list. :) We also enjoyed the Baltimore harbor, leisurely lunch and dinner dates, reconnecting with old friends and witnessing a lovely wedding.

  1. Nice looking lunch! How do you put two pics together? Is that a photo shop feature?
