oops, we got a little bit much sun yesterday. . aloe vera on a few red spots last night. I'll blame Emily and her kids whom we enjoyed the entire day with outside. We decided to have our own version of a pool party - filled up the pool (with more warm than cold water!), sat out the deck chairs on the driveway, laid out quilts and beach towels on the grass and prepped snacks and water bottles. The kids actually all played well together and had great fun. We used to wonder when we had younger children if they would ever be friends - now that they are older, they all play with one another, sometimes the oldests, sometimes the middles and my favorite from yesterday: Kaiden was the husband, Maddie was the wife, Miette was the oldest child and then the other three girls (Elinor was sleeping) were triplets. That's one busy household.
Today is a cloudy day perfect for catching up on all the laundry and housework, reading new library books and taking a long neighborhood walk. Sometimes a day at home without anything on the calendar is such a nice prospect.
