4 weeks. . .

. . count-down to the end of our school year.

Yes, we are actually ahead in our schedule as I decided to skip spring break and just get done a week earlier. This will give us two free weeks before the actual end of term (according to The Classical Academy). My focus these last two weeks will be on spring cleaning the entire house, redistributing the clothing (switching out seasonal things for the girls), and shopping for any spring/summer things for the kids. That's the grand plan but we'll see how it goes. As the warmer weather inches it's way through the week, we are more and more drawn to the outdoors and taking trips to the zoo or park with friends. A clean house and organization gets me excited as I love both but it's the actual journey to arrive there that sometimes slows things down. One thing that I'm looking forward to is getting our carpets cleaned. I have a slight obsession with carpet (oh, the vacuum lines!) and even though our carpet currently is not quite the kind I like, getting it cleaned will be great incentive to have everything else in order.

The girls have been on overdrive in the imagination world. I've been to more birthday parties, play-dates and castle rescues in the past few weeks than I can count. Baby dolls are the centerpiece, each switching mother between sisters and being renamed just for fun. And the mothers must be dressed for the occasion too, exchanging ordinary clothes for the excitement of dress-up. The backyard is the latest location for most games. Because we're reading the Little House on the Prairie Series aloud, they have started gardens and built whatever they need to furnish their "houses". Their play has recently reminded me of this book. . .

If you haven't read this story, it's wonderful. A complete wonderland for the imagination.
