The girls and I went to a nature center this morning for a program called "signs of fall". We read a story about autumn and then went on a hike to see animals and plants. The center is participating in a program that raises monarch butterflies and then tracks their migrating patterns and everything. A butterfly had just come out of the cocoon that morning so we were able to stick the tracking tag on it and let it go. On our hike the girls were excited to see lots of grasshoppers eating leaves, a deer resting in the meadow, two big toads by the pond and Maddie found a fallen wing from a cicada on the trail.
