I was part of a book club for about a year, but over time friends moved on and schedules became fuller, and the book club stopped meeting. I still do love a good read, especially of books that I wouldn't necessarily pick up on my own. This spring, the club finished up with reading The Kite Runner, Cutting for Stone, Mennonite in a Little Black Dress and Havah, the Story of Eve. Others that I read to review before choosing for club was the Postmistress, Water for Elephants and The King's Speech. Out of all those titles, my favorite was probably the King's Speech (interesting little biography type book, short and sweet) though some of the other bestseller titles were also a good read especially when you have a group to discuss the intricacies with.
Now since the official group is over, I'm wanting to get some new titles for the summer. One of the ideas of the group was to share over e-mails titles, reviews and thoughts about books we've been reading. Here are two titles that I have on hold at the library in case someone needed some fresh ideas: The Paris Wife and The Tiger's Wife. Not a series or anything, just titles that are eerily similar. :) Happy reading. . .
