last of 2010

We spent our Christmas holidays with Nana, Grampa, Aunt Trinity, and Uncle Tim in Spokane, WA. We enjoyed many amusing mornings playing games, throwing bell toys for new kitty Java, and sipping lattes. The girls enjoyed some much anticipated snowfall by sledding, making a snowman and then warming up with a hot bath. (So glad to leave most of the snow behind at Nana's house! :))

I loved the joy of Christmas seen through the eyes of my girls this year. They were so happy and excited and I stored up many small graces in my mama heart. Nana took us on the familiar tour of the city courthouse where she serves as council woman, proudly introducing her three adorable grandchildren. We spent many happy moments conversing, shopping, and Troy and I were blessed by Nana and Grampa watching the little ones so we could have a couple of evening dates.

Madelyn's birthday, the 31st, was a day filled with fun. First, the "girls" (Mama, Maddie, Ellie, Nana and Aunt Trinity) went to an Imax film - the first time for the big screen for both M&E. It was a claymation film that they are still talking about. Then we met up with the rest of the family for some outdoor ice skating (brrr!) and indoor mini golf. After finishing with a ride on the carousel, we had a pizza dinner and sparkly celebration cake decorated my Madelyn. Maddie received her very own Bible and she spent New Year's morning quietly reading. She has determined to read through the entire Bible this year and we are delighted to encourage her in this endeavor.

The pictures are slightly out of order and a bit random...
