my girls

Charlotte is such a sweet baby and has grown by leaps and bounds this past month. She coos, laughs, blows bubbles and is generally happy when the attention is exclusively on her. :) I love this age when they can't roll over yet but are content to just lay and play. Charlotte is sleeping a good 10 hours most nights but she does love those quiet evenings with mom and dad. Both Maddie and Ellie wake up and immediately ask to hold Charlotte and tell her good morning. Ellie calls her by her full name, Charlotte Mae, most days and does most of her talking to her in sing-songy baby talk. Maddie loves to hold her and the most fun thing is when Charlotte holds on to Maddie's finger. That thrills her day.
Ella is talking non-stop and with that new vocabulary comes new attitude...sigh...! She copys Maddie incessantly - words, actions, even mimics her body language. Yesterday, we were taking a walk in the wagon and she was sitting in the back with her tongue sticking out. I asked her why her tongue was out and she answered..."I'm tasting the wind!" She's quite the blonde as most stuff flies right over her head. She's innocent as a dove until Maddie does something she doesn't like.
Madelyn is still learning to obey and it's now becoming an issue of her heart more than her behavior. She enjoys playing but loves to be the one in the lead. She likes to be the mother, queen, teacher, or any of the "in charge" professions. We've started school again - we have a BOZ the bear activity book for each day and we're working our way through Phonics Pathways. I found the Bob books at a church sale and got the beginner series for her. She can read the 3-letter words really well...as long as she puts her mind to it. :) We also include Ella in our circle time activities of calendar time, going over the alphabet, numbers, continents and states.
