all in the day of a mom...

I think I might be in the running for the "best mom" award today. After getting the kids up, bathed and dressed, I took them off to the library reading program party downtown. We had to park quite far away and then push the stroller over grass and then underbrush to even get to the event. Maddie got to sit in a police car, eat an ice pop, pet a pig and snake, decorate a paper crown, and slide down an inflatable slide. A helicopter landed on the grassy field behind us and there was a talented puppeteer entertaining the crowds. Every activity had about 20 kids in line in front of us and it took all my power to keep our place in line from other shoving kids from the numerous daycares and summer camps. Add that to maneuvering the double stroller with Ellie through the crowds to keep up with Maddie and it was a long morning. But it's all in the life of a mom and Maddie even told me thank you for taking her to the party. :)

Tonight we have the pleasure of picnicking with some longtime missionary friends that are back for a few months break. It will be a joy to see Randy again and meet his wife Jessy for the first time.

  1. don't you love those days when things just go smoothly enough to feel like super mom? i try to remember them on those "other" days when gloria is just fussy every moment she can get and refuses to nap and is cranky and clingy all day... =)

  2. What a BLESSING...when after all of your hard work...your little angel thinks to tell you thank you. How Precious!

You are SO good with photography, and arrangement. You really should make money with your talent. :-)
