reading aloud

Inspired by my latest book (here), I decided to take a set time and read out loud to Madelyn. Ellie was playing happily after lunch so Maddie and I sat down and started reading the book she won as a prize at the library reading program. She loved it! I was just going to read one chapter a day but she wanted to keep reading. It's called Betsy-Tacy written by Maud Hart Lovelace. It's a story about two little five-year-old girls who are friends. There is actually a series of these books so we'll have to see how well Maddie continues to enjoy them.
