Our computer has been down this week thus the delay in posting for such a long time. The girls and I have been enjoying the library story times and checking out lots of books. Here's some of what I've read in May:
The man who loved Jane Austen - O'Rourke, Sally Smith
Edge of honor - Morris, Gilbert
The Storekeeper's Daughter - Brunstetter, Wanda
The Quilter's Daughter - Brunstetter, Wanda
The bishop's daughter - Brunstetter, Wanda
Troy is also reading Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers out loud to me in the evenings. It's one we've both read before but it's an awesome story to read a second time.
Along with the fiction list, I've been exploring all sorts of educational books - teaching reading, preschool ideas and methods of school. I've enjoyed reading about Charlotte Mason and her philosophies as well as familiarizing myself with the Five in a Row books I recently purchased.
What have you been reading? Leave a comment and give me some ideas for our next library trip.
I LOVE Redeeming Love! I end up reading it at least once a year! All others I've read by Rivers are great too!
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying the author Jodi Picoult...she has written several books but my favorite has been "My sisters keeper" Plus I love anything by Karen Kingsbury or Beverly Lewis:-)
ReplyDeleteI just read The Diaper Free Baby. Hmmmm...yeah right. Think we're going to stick to the diapers.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading on early 20th century Russian history. Probably not most people's "cup-o-tea", but I find it fascinating. :)
ReplyDeleteI recently finished "A Long Way Gone", a memoir of a boy soldier in Sierra Leone. I'm now in the middle of "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls. I agree with Erin about Jodi Picoult though! "My Sister's Keeper" has been my fav of hers so far.
ReplyDeletei love redeeming love too - the first time I read it I did in a matter of two days and purchased it for all the women in my college small group that year. Phil and I are reading Humility by CJ Mahaney together right now during car rides. Otherwise I'm still working through Mission of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson very slowly as well as Stepping Heavenward by Prentiss
