Moving week is here. The movers arrive tomorrow so tonight is our last chance to get anything we might need in the unknown amount of time before we have our own place and our stuff is delivered out of storage. Do you know how hard it is to pack for several weeks? sigh...
We're also organizing everything so that unpacking at the other end with go quickly and smoothly. Troy took over eight big boxes/bags to the thrift store tonight so we're hoping to be leaving L.A. with less stuff than we came with! It's nice to feel decluttered and to know where things are. (Troy would be proud of me for saying that!)
Here's my list of things I'm thankful for today:
1. Kelly, who came over to watch the girls while we finished packing tonight. Such a huge help!
2. Insurance (that is quickly going away!)...we've all gotten clean bills of health and everybody's teeth have been cleaned!
3. the hospitality of my sister Liz and her husband Seth for opening of their home for us when we arrive in the Springs. We can't wait to see you and meet baby Grace!
4. a husband who has the organization and determination to see projects to their end (thus me sitting here writing this blog while he finishes projects around the house!)
5. movers who will bring their own boxes and paper and pack all of our belongings
6. the policy that the apartment will pay for house cleaners anyway so don't bother cleaning your apartment when you leave - they'll still charge you a fee for the cleaners...yeah for me!
7. Maddie's interest in the story of Jesus dying on the cross...she reads her Easter book over and over and is learning the truth of God's Word.
8. Ellie has an appetite! She ate 9 pancakes this morning (courtesy of Grammie's pancake mix!) and 2 little slices of pizza for dinner!
9. the weather that has the rest of the country jealous...it was 85 here today and we had fans on and windows open...so beautiful! I'm not sure if I'm all that ready for Colorado winter! :)
Moving is stressful. We've been there so many times and who knows how much more (maybe never!), but we are in God's hands and there is no other place that I'd rather be. I liked reading your list of thankful things. Makes me appreciate more of the things in my life. We're praying for each of you and let us know when you've arrived safely!
