pet store prayers

Troy took the car to work today, as normal, but instead of being stranded at home, I gathered up the girls and headed out for some fresh air. Maddie wanted to walk so I pushed the double stroller with Ellie and the doll babies. There is a shopping plaza within walking distance (about a mile away) with a Mervyns, Trader Joe's and Petco. Just for the fun of it we stopped by the pet store to see what animals they had. Ellie loved the fish tanks right at the level of her face and Maddie went around looking for the Nemo fishies. There was a puppy that was up for adoption (they don't normally have cats and dogs for sale at this pet store) so we stopped to visit with it. Maddie noticed right away that the puppy had a bandage/stiches over one of his eyes. She told me that we should ask God to fix the puppy's eye and proceeded to tell Ellie to close her eyes so we could pray. It was the sweetest thing and then she was completely confident that she had fixed the dog's problem. After looking at birds and their cool cages (Maddie finally found the door opening and figured out how to open it) we met Troy at Trader Joe's so he could take us home for lunch. From our time at the store, I was reminded of the innocence and precious trust that a child exudes. May I have that same passionate faith in our great God!

  1. I know that pet store! I used to take the little girl I was a nanny for over there. I must admit she never offered to pray for any of the pets.

  2. I love it. Maddie is so sweet and compassionate. I love that she named her dolls Andrew after your family came over for lunch. She's just a natural little mother.
