Grace-Based Parenting is one of my latest books that I enjoyed very much. It's a refreshing book divided into two parts: the needs we are trying to meet in our children and the delivery system for how we meet them. It's not to be confused with permissive parenting philosphy but rather how to create a grace-based home enviroment that will encourage children to grow up with a sense of calm and a heart of strong purpose! It clarified some things for Troy and I and put into writing things that we had always thought but had never voiced together. I highly recommend it!

Another book that I just finished for the second time is Safely Home. This book should be a must-read for every follower of Christ. It's a fictional, yet true to life story, of a Chinese man and American business man. The story focuses on the persecution of the Christian church and gives beautiful glimpses of heaven throughout the story. One of my favorite quotes in the book is, "True gold fears no fire". May those words encourage our hearts and inspire us to live true to the calling we have recieved.
All the royalties for the book Safely Home are given to the persecuted church around the world.
Some of the other books I read in the month of October...
Blessed Child, Bill Bright and Ted Dekker
Why Not Women?, Loren Cunnningham and David Hamilton
God's High Calling for Women, John MacArthur
OMG'ness! We LOVED Safely Home. Everyone should read it, I totally agree. That book, along with the Francine Rivers ones, have opened my eyes, heart, and mind so much. I read in VOM magazine shortly thereafter about a Chinese man commenting on how sad he was for Americans who were afraid to do things like share their faith at work and "little" things like that. I think our generation is going to do and see great things that totally have Heaven jumping in the stands! Tori always tells me that Jesus is going to come play with her tomorrow, so she keeps me on my toes as far as "being ready." :)
