Today we went on a tour charter bus for a tour of L.A. It's a service the Air Force provides for those moving here. It was quite fun and the girls had a good time too...

We went to Hollywood and saw the star's stars and walked around the Kodak theater. After taking pictures of the hollywood sign we were off to the Farmer's Market - an outdoor eating and shopping place. It's right next to the Grove, another nice mall (haven't had a chance to go inside yet). We had lunch at the market...Troy had seafood, Maddie had pizza from some Italian place and I had a gyro from greek booth. There was every kind of ethnic food you could ever want - Japanese, Korean, Brazillian, Cajun, Greek, etc...It was sooo yummy - I think we'll be returning there! Here are a few more pictures...

As we were riding on the bus, we were struck with all the people that live here and what is obviously important to them...it is truly as Ecclesiastes says, "I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and striving after the wind". (Ecc. 1:14) At Bible study a few weeks ago, Adam, our leader, was teaching an overview of Ecc. and reminded us that everything
under the sun is vanity and doesn't mean anything. But his challenge to us was that we were never created to live
under the sun but
above the sun counting only things eternal as things worthwhile. My prayer today is that as I live in this place, I would live as an "above the sun Christian", seeing souls and the Word of God as the only two things that will last forever, and make my life count towards them.
